newb needs help

hi. i have no experince in Java programing. (other than copy/paste javascripts for my website)

i have a laptop with a multi touch touch pad, and it allows me to put three fingers on the pad and it opens a file. however i want to be able to open different programs instead of just one.

so i thought if i were able to make a java file that opened one file if, lets say z was pushed or another if x was pushed. (after the program had been started via the three finger push)

after opening the program in question, java and the java application, should close again.

is this rather simple or is it advanced?

well i would really like it, and i do (somehow) understand very simple java.

maybe some kind loving soul, could make the code and explain it :P

It doesn't seem like it would be terribly complicated, but on the other hand, I would never do it in Java. It's just not the right fit. You'd want this code to start very fast and to have a tiny footprint. Write it in C.
