Info regarding the JAVA framework on my system
This is my first post on this forum and I'm sure of getting it resolved by the experts here. It might even be a silly question, forgive me for my ignorance:
I am facing trouble executing Business Objects WeB intelligence reports on my system. Whenever i try opening a report in edit mode, it begins by popping up the JAVA coffee mug, telling me that the task is in progress and about to be loaded, however, stops midway and the whole page freezes.
I thought it might be an issue with the Java/JRE version on my system, and when i check the Add/Remove programs for these, i can see that the versions are:
1. Java (TM) 6 Update 16
2. Java (TM) 6 Update 20
3. J2SE runtime environment 5.0 update 17, 20 and 22.
However, when i try checking the java version thru the cmd line, i get the following response:
java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
The JAVA version does make sense to me, however, the version of JRE which comes up as build 1.6.0_20-b02. does not, becuase the JRE i see in my add/remove programs list is JRE 5.0.
Also, on checking the JAVA version thru the internet explorer, i can see that is says - Use JAVA version 1.6_0_20
This has made me really confused, if there is no JRE 6 update 20 inside my programs list, how does my cmd and IE show it there?
