I can't stop you from posting spoonfeeding, boilerplate code but I can keep on asking mods to ban you asap which is what I will do. You have irritated me to the bone; you have a bad character, are not interested whether or not posters learn (more or less your own words) and your educational capacities are way below zero; you don't belong here; go back to the forums where they pay people for answers and reward them with pocket money and stars. Univiersities and schools love those forums. Oh, and b.t.w I recognize you, trying to weasle yourself away from your own words and deeds; low lifes often do that. No need to keep 'cool'.

I can no longer help it, I must take sides...

JavaHater, you're being stupid about this. It was in no way Jos who started it, even in this thread. To say so is childish and immature. He simply pointed out that regex code, which when involving NL/CR and attempting to be multi-platform is really boilerplate code, is, and I quote, 'crappy' and in no way necessary for this purpose. Regexes may be versatile, but self-written code is more so, and easier to use in cases like this.

Also, what ever compelled you to post a full example? As JosAH said, it's just not done here. And it seriously annoys me, as I'm only 16 and probably more competent than numerous university students/recent graduates out there BECAUSE of people taking examples and just using them, rather than understanding, while I taught myself and understand fully everything I use. By the way, good name choice... you're most definitely a hater. Oh, and the code that follows C programming or is too archaic/old/prehistoric/draconian is often far faster and many times easier to understand than 'modern' code.

JosAH, I hope you can just ignore him... If he keeps this up, he'll be gone soon enough. I don't often try to get people banned, except for ad posters, but he's very close to having me trying, and I'd guess that other people feel the same way.
If the above doesn't make sense to you, ignore it, but remember it - might be useful!
And if you just randomly taught yourself to program, well... you're just like me!

Thanks for your reply but I want this moron banned asap. If that little idiot stays here it takes away my fun to participate in this forum and I'm gone (back to the Sun/Oracle forums most likely). I don't want to fight stubborn obnoxious fools, nor do I want to hide from them. When I am irritated and insulted to the marrow I can be stubborn too.

    kind regards,

    Jos

I understand the feeling, but if you keep going, peoples opinion of you may get skewed. Those of us who have been around for a while know you're a helpful, funny person, but the newer ones don't... And honestly, what he's says deserves to be ignored, not dignified by letting it drag you into an argument. IMO it might even be humorous to watch him stew, if he never gets any response.

You're wiser than I am young whippersnapper (no insult intended). Did my wife by any chance email you about me behind my back? ;-) She thinks the same about me; I know I should've stayed out of this and I don't get angry soon but this moron irritated the shit out of me (excusez le mot). And when I get irritated and angry about stuff I become furious. b.t.w. I still suffer from the consequences of the eggrolls and chocolate ice cream incident (which didn't happen I swear ;-)

    kind regards,

    Jos

None taken. And if your wife had emailed me, chances are I'd be running scared, not giving sage advice ;) I'm glad JavaHater is gone for a week though... gives us all a chance to cool down.

OP: again, as Jos said, sorry for all the havoc. Are you still having any problems, or have you managed to solve them while the rest of us bickered? (If you have, good for you!)
