    Smile How to make a Java mp3/mp4 player?

    i am a total noob in java (i know basic classes methods and objects and stuff like that) and i wanted to make a simple mp3/mp4 player

    i have no idea where to start :)

    so please help me by providing tutorials or starting steps or something...thank you!!

    This is a VERY complicated task since the spec for said formats could be a doctoral thesis (and was I'm sure). However, others have already done this for you. JMF is platform dependent sadly, and the pure java version does not support mp3. However, the JLayer project is platform independent and does support mp3! Check it out: MP3 library for the Java Platform
