get data from serial port
can anyone teach me how to get data from serial port of system and use it to perform a task and again send data to serial port

For MS Windows Sun/Oracle discontinued their serial port support. For Unix/Linux google for "javax comm" (it's version 3 if I'm not mistaken). For MS Windows there are a couple of clones; rxtx.org comes to mind.
