    i need to know the topics of Maths and the skills that are essentially required to have an edge in programming. .......... .....

    As much or as little as possible, depending on the task at hand. A bit of calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics... it all depends on the project at hand.

    well if we see the overall programming,,,,,,eg: i am in high school now so i don't have javaq in my course...bt studying it on my own bcz i like it .........bt have Maths,, so i wanted to know that wat are the skills that i must learn in school that will help later to me.

    Study all the math you can absorb (only if you like it). Anecdote: I studied math at a university and when I graduated I thought I knew it all; until a couple of years ago when a strange idea woke up my mind. I'm using Java for the implementation of that strange idea and I had to study quite a bit of computer algebra for it: symbolic evaluation is a strange but interesting mess and didn't quite exist yet when I graduated ...
