why am i not enjoying programming?

I am an unemployed software engineer. My problem if that I am not enjoying programming. I really want to be a successful programmer, it is my desire. But when I study for that, I don't enjoy it. I found it taking much effort and I leave it in between.

Should I take up another career? When I start studying for another career I start thinking that my goal is to be a successful programmer so I again come to programming fold. This process continues and I end up doing nothing.

What should I do??

The question is: why do you "really want to be a successful programmer" if you don't enjoy programming?

The real question is: why do you think strangers on the internet can give you better advice than your friends, your school, or yourself?

Maybe you find incremental chapter learning a chore and should concentrate on implementing projects where chapter learning and studying has a point of focus i.e. a specific thing you are trying to implement on your project at that time.
