User Interfaces and Java... any component/framework?
I'd like to know if there's any way (tutorials/any framework) to have Java applications user interfaces like they do in :
Telerik or Infragistics for .Net?
I've done some search but I always end up with some old components or component half-ugly which cost about 2 000$ or so...
Do you have links to interesting User Interfaces or it just doesn't really exist and we need to do them all?
My "dream" would be to transform my current application to Java, and it has these features that I absolutely like in it and I need to have in Java :
- 100% custom window borders
- Nice graph options
- Printing features (html/pdf export)
- Nice tables with column orders/filters/selection
- Great other UI components like 5-state buttons, well for that I don't think it would be a problem
It's a pretty comon application actualy, but I would like to be able to keep the look and feel of the actual UI which look like this :
And I don't want my application to look like this :
I've seen some Java applications which are doing exactly what I want, in fact my current language allows to export in Java (but only partial export and nothing is really 100% compatible), but it's using non-opensource code (and I do want to control everything), it's a pretty environment but "closed", which I am trying to get rid of...
So if anyone knows a framework that I could be interested in, or tutorials of graphic customisation of controls, just let me know.
I might be searching something that does not really exist but I do not know why .Net would have its UI frameworks and not Java...
I'm a little newbie in the Java world, my only "expertise" of it is basically what I learnt in class (read: not much, basic UI usage and a lot of Object Oriented code).
Thank you for your help!
