Advice needed :)

Can anyone advise if this is possible and how would my friend and I go about it. He wants to develop a small program in Java that scans a fat filesystem searching for a list of keywords he has in a txt file. He then wants the information found to be printed to an xml file with details of the file, where the keyword was found (including the file name and file location) Any advice would be really appreciated :):)

Quite possible, by learning to program. If Java is your language of choice start here. Obviously the file i/o sections will be of particular interest.
