    Hi everyone,

Im doing a java chat in eclipse, and i would like to open a new command prompt when i choose to have a private conversation with a client. For example:

My nick is Derek and i want to talk with Dany, when i choose the private option i would that this conversation was in a new window. Im not sure if im explaning my idea from the best way, but my english isnt really good. I hope anyone could help or give me any information that could help me.

    Thanks,

Are you creating a GUI (Swing) chat application? If so, opening another dialog should be easy to accomplish.

Then I've no idea how to help. All console / command-line type programs I've worked with have used just one command line. There's only one standard output and input as far as I know (oh and standard error too). Why not just create a simple GUI?
