JavaZoom BasicPlayer wont seek or adjust volume
Since a few days I’m trying to get playing of MP3 files in a Java application to work. I downloaded the BasicPlayer3.0 jar from JavaZoom and all other needed libs to make it work. And it does work. To get started I essentially used the exact code from JavaZooms website (jlGui - BasicPlayer developer guide). Now I would like to implement seeking and changing Pan and Gain at runtime and it just won’t work. Whenever I call the seek method the stream resets to the beginning and the volume is set about half way up, regardless what I told it to be. And Pan and Volume only seems to default to all the way up or down or the middle. I’m completely lost. Is there a good and extensive tutorial out there somewhere how to use BasicPlayer properly? I would be happy with some simple code examples that show the use of seek and gain at runtime. Everything I could find online was not very useful.
As an alternative is there a lib out there that’s a little newer and does the same job as BasicPlayer? And yes I know how to use Google and used it. I also looked at SourceForge. Not much luck there either.
Thanks in advance, Chris
