    Default Play the latest

    First time poster, hello y'all.

Fairly new to java. I was told what I'm trying to achieve can't be done with html. So here's my query:

    My website

This a weather site / beach cam. I generate timelapses at the top of each hour and would like the snapshot / play button in the right column to be a direct download link to the *LATEST* timelapse movie. Right now I'm just linking to the timelapse page.

Is such a script possible in java or should I be looking at something else?

    Thanks.

So any hints about where to begin with this? Seems like I would need a script that looks at the date stamp and does some subtraction from the current time. Any advice appreciated!

Hello. Just for clarification, are you asking about the Javascript programming language or the Java language? Are you familiar with the difference between the two?

Fubarable, I didn't know there was a difference. The last time I did any programming was with punch cards on a Cyber 720. And given that compilers have changed, doubting my advanced Fortran text will do me much good.

I'll take any thing that works, java, javascript, java con leche. I ended up here because someone on the html forum recommended I look at java as a solution. Sorry I'm not better prepared. Just trying to get a vector so I know where to begin. Thanks.
