Default GUI Front End for Linux Tools

I want to create a GUI front end for some Linux tools I have (example: /bin/rm). Is it possible to do this in Java?

Sure, it depends a bit on the tool though; have a look at Runtime.exec( ... ) for the actual running of the tool and read all about the Swing classes for the GUI part.
