Default Catthing errors when java executes

I tried searching for this, but couldn't find anything that made sense. I also apologize that this is not 100% java question.

I have a java export utility that I execute using a bat file. If there is an error when running it, I get the error in the command window. I would like to capture that error within the bat file to make sure the execution was successful. I am catching the errors in the bat file that I can with errorlevel, but any of the java errors do not show up.

Is there an easy way to do this?

If you can't change the java program, you'll get better questions about how to use your OS on a forum for the OS.
If you can change the java program, use System.exit(errorlevel) to set the error level.

That is exactly what I am looking for. Yes I can change the java. I will try the code to see what I get. May post back the code if I have problems.

    Thanks!
