    Default Java Connectivity with Excel

    Can we use MS Excel sheet to store data, as we can do it in SQL/Oracle tables with the help of JDBC?

    Yes, why would you want to though? That's not exactly platform independent as the ODBC driver for excel is still needed and that is only available on windows (and maybe on MAC).

    You would be better off distributing the derby.jar with your app and using JavaDB/Apache Derby and get a "real" DB.
