Default Need of an Abstract class ?

Why is it necessary to derive an Abstract class? Though we know that it does not have a body, we still inherit this class. Why? Please explain

Not true. It can many useful methods. Only one of an abstract class's methods need be abstract.

AFAIK, not even that. Again AFAIK, you can have an abstract class with no abstract methods.

abstract class is like a fusion between an interface and a concrete class.
