Guidance for SCJP
Good to have found this forum.
My name is Sairam and i'm a newbie to Java.
I have 4 yrs of exp in C++ and on the system side development but i dont have any idea in Java.
Somehow i got an interest towards Java and i have decided to got for it.
As of now i was just collecting information on SCJP exams. But apart from that i am quite blank on how to proceed on . Like i can see that diff kinds of Java (SE,ME,EE, Struts..ETC..) are there so which one to take up.
It will be very much helpful if somebody provides some input.
Thanks in advance

For the SCJP you need Java SE only.
Sun's basic Java tutorial
Sun's New To Java Center
Includes an overview of what Java is, instructions for setting up Java, an intro to programming (that includes links to the above tutorial or to parts of it), quizzes, a list of resources, and info on certification and courses.
A general Java resource site. Includes FAQs, forums, courses, more.
To quote the tagline on their homepage: "a friendly place for Java greenhorns." FAQs, forums (moderated, I believe), sample code, all kinds of goodies for newbies. From what I've heard, they live up to the "friendly" claim.
