Default I am new to Java

    Hi Friends,
I am new to Java. I want to learn and implement Java programs all by myself, but the problem is I get stuck when I get doubts in between. Please help me over this issue and let me know how can I study Java effectively.

    Anticipating your reply friends..

    Regards,
    Lakshmi

Go through these and make sure to keep a link to these and use them frequently.

Like masijade said, the API documentation is your friend. Java has a whole bundle of functionality that eases the creation process, but memorizing all that info is pretty much impossible. When I'm coding, I frequently check the APIs of different classes, just to see if something I want to do is already implementd.

Depending on how well you are progressing j2me links are some of the best around, but any way my two cents worth for a total begginner, when I am looking into a new language I always look for these to begin with:

    1. how are variables used.
    2. how are conditional statements used (e.g. if())
    3. how are loops used e.g for and whiles
    4. what is the languages basic input output

Yep, at the very first step DO NOT use and IDE. But cannot hang on for a long time either, have to take that decision by themselves.

That's all you want, specially the API nothing else. And OP can post a thread here as well if you want to make a nice discussion on your doubts.
