    Default Problem in importing org.apache

    I have to build a project and one of the class, uses the following import, but Eclipse IDE raises an error over it.

    import org.apache.commons.lang.ClassUtils;

    I have no idea, what to do? Should I have to install Apache tomcat to get rid of this error, or some thing else? I am extremely new to this Java world. What I can foresee is the compiler failed to find org.apache.

    please guide.

    Have you downloaded the apache commons jar (whichever one it is) and added it to the projects classpath?

    Most likely, as most nowadays new programmers do, the op just grabbed some code from the net, pasted it and expects it to magically work without knowing what actually needs to happen behind the scene.

    kind regards,

    Ah, the magically appearing dependencies!
    Rub the jar and make a wish?
    :)

    Then again, isn't that called Maven?

    Yep, and Eclipse's wizards suck! They even don't know that we all want to run our code without understanding anything! We are online 24/7 so why don't they download and install those jars we might need? And we don't want to be bothered with dialogs and stuff and we certainly don't want to read manuals or stuff; that makes our eyeballs hurt; we copy and paste what we want an we demand correctly running programs. Would that be too much to ask for?

    kind regards,

    Jos

    Thanks for your generous comments and might be you do not like, but there is no harm in learning in this way.

    Anyhow, thanks and the help worked for me.

    regards
