    Default Snake game in java

Hey guys, what's up. I'm new to the forum so i hope you guys can help with this tiny HUGE :-p problem i have. For a school assignment i am required to create a version of the famous snake game in java using BlueJ. I have no prior knowledge of java whatsoever, but i've done a few things in pascal, vb and a little bit c++. I've downloaded over 10 source codes for different snake games but nothing like what i want. The game i'm required to develop must not have GUI that is to say the output must be redirected to the console in text format. Can you guys shed a light on this for me? It'd be very much appreciated.

P.S. If you guys tell me how to delete the graphics part of a source code for a java game of your choice that would be super... Thanx

I recommend that you change your approach as you'll get so much more out of your class if you write this code yourself. You should outline the steps needed for the game, then start coding each step, one at a time. You can find more helpful recommendations in the last link in my signature. If you run into trouble with your code, then please feel free to ask any questions about your code here. Best of luck!

I agreed. freaky, the way you going to move with is not good at all. Java is not a language that you can learn in few hours, i don't think you can do that with any other language. Means that to learn the basis it'll take some times. You can learn those things while doing some coding stuff. Start your application with the simple step, as Fubarable says, step down your requirements. Then on each step you can learn a lot, and ask any question if you stuck on anything.

And also please keep in mind that this is a forum. Everyone likes to help you, but I don't think that anyone wants to do your assignments. So you MUST show your effort here. Good luck!

Thanx for the fast response guys. I agree with all you've said and believe me i am trying as hard as i can but it's difficult as a full time worker and a student to achieve such a project in just one moth. That's right we have one month to do it. The project is due 2 weeks from now. The problem is i'll flunk for sure. If you just show me how to change one class of a source code with GUI to redirect what's going on in the game to the console i would so very much appreciate it. I know this is a forum and i mean no disrespect but please help me. Thank you

I also don't mean to be disrespectful either, but I think I speak for many here when I say that if you don't learn the skills to pass the course, then perhaps you shouldn't pass. If on the other hand you put in the effort, this thing should be do-able, and you'll gain too. If you try to solve this yourself and get stuck, you'll likely find many here who would be glad to help you, but I highly doubt you'll get anyone here to do what you are currently asking for. Best of luck regardless.
