Stopping a .swf with java

I have a .swf on a page that is set up to play automatically however I want the user to be able to stop the .swf no matter where they click on the page. So the user will click somewhere on the page (not in the actual .swf) and that will stop the .swf.

How would I go about doing this?

Thought there could be a java script that I need to control the Flash.
