    Default Desktop Icon

Is there any way, in your code, to make it so that, when compiled, the application has a different icon? I know that you can make a shortcut and change your icon, and I know how to change the icon by the title when the application is open, but how do you change the desktop icon from the coffee mug?

Create a shortcut to your Jar and give that shortcut an icon.

That would be the most suitable thing. Just like you can't added a specialized icon for a particular MSWord document.

You can do one things, if you really want to a different icon for JAR files. Change icon features in your system. Like in XP, Control Panel -> Folder Options -> Select "JAR" -> Advanced, and then click Change Icon and assign yours.
