program with converting feet to meters

Having trouble with my java homework. I need to make a program that converts ft. to meters; like this

The formula for the conversion is:
meter = 0.305*foot

I use textpad

How did you do this on console, I mean you send an image here and I hope you did it. So how? Seems to me the results are ok (just doing a mind test only). Can you elaborate us little more?
