Hey Ya'll, Just a Simple download and Install

I've tried to download and install the latest version of Java for viewing websites, movies, and such. I've uninstalled the older version 5 update 10. Was trying to install 6.2. I downloaded the file offline cause online I got error messages 1335 and 1722( corrupt data files possibly or other reasons). I have deleted all traces of Java files on C: drive, trash bin, etc.. Java's website said to go here. Anyone know how to handle this? Running win xp on an Acer( Fat32). 1.5GB Ram and 120 Gb hard. I still get the same error messages.

I did not understand your problem. I understood that you get that error for online version but what is the error for offline version?

I downloaded java 6.2 after I deleted the older versions of Java from my comp. I receive the same error messages when I try to Install the new version of Java on my comp. the error messages are error code 1335 and 1722. when I receive these messages the Java installer rolls back all of the installation process. Do I need to go back and download and install the older versions of Java and just keep them? OR is there a way around this issue so I can have the latest version? Hope this clears things up.

I have tried to download and install the online version but download failed with same error messages. So I tried the offline version but still same problem with error messages.

Did you uninstall Java from your control Panel? If so, i guess your installer file is corrupted. You might try a download manager to download the file.

I uninstalled Java from Control Panel yes. where Could I get a a download manager for Java? I have just reinstalled a fresh installation of windows xp operating system as well on this brand new computer, ran antivirus scans and such. So far not traces of spyware or viruses and computer runs really fast and smooth. The error messages I received are not uncommon from the Java website where I downloaded the file, so at least I'm not the only one who has this problem

Any download manager should work. It is not a Java specific thing. I am using FashGet as an example. It downloads the files faster and makes sure that the downloaded file is not corrupted.
