    Default JavaBean

    Hi,

I've been looking all over the sun java tutorials, and a found the word 'bean'.
I'm from Flanders and i don't understand English very well, so i don't know what the word 'bean' means. Can someone simply explain me what a bean is?

    Thank you,
    Hannes

They say something about 'reusable software component'. Do they mean a real Java component( e.g. Jpanel) or something else?

No, they mean components in general, not just Swing components. Swing components can be interpreted as being beans too but not every bean needs to be a visual component. The purpose of a bean is that you can rip it out of the surrounding code and plug it in somewhere else where it can be reused again.

    kind regards,

    Jos
