Default Waiting for a carriage return

I am writing the rest of my project and thought it would be nice to allow the user to fix any path or file name problems when the program fails to open a file for reading.

How would I go about doing that? I read the Scanner API and even the BufferedReader API and I get nothing unless I am missing something.

I'm not clear what your question exactly is. Confused with the title and the content of the post.

Are you want to allow user to select the file path? Depend on the way you work on, weather it's a console application, swing/awt, etc.. you can take different approaches. Better if you can provide more details about your question.
