Unwanted Java update
Some weeks ago I was 'invited' to download a Java update, which I did.
I immediately started getting problems.
To overcome this I used system restore.
Now every time I turn on my PC I am prompted that an update is available.
Can anybody tell me how I can stop this happening please?

hi Hummingbird,
here is an alternative for you to walk around the java auto update.
let's say you got java 5, and it is going to updated to java 6 automatically.
1. duplicate your java 5 folder. name like java_old_5
2. let java update program work
3. set the JAVA_HOME in envirement vairable as the java_old_5
4. set the PATH in envirement viarable as java_old_5/bin
by above steps, your java program should working depending on java5, and not the updated java6.
if you don't know how to set enriement viabale, plz let me know, i can make some snapshot to you.
good luck.i hold 7 years develop exp. now i start a thread to share my knowlege about a j2ee project. welcome to participate.Study Java Through Real Java Project
