hello all
I am interested in making a cards game based on java .....
I need some advice as to what all tools to use....I need some graphics effects too like(the cards are shown being distributed and all..)
I would be highly obliged if someone experienced could give some help regarding what all essential knowledge is req....

I dont know about your card game how you going to develop? But onething Applet is much better tool for developing game and animation in java...Quote:

Fiirst, Try to write down the logiic behind the card game and what classes and methods you want to use in the game.
Keep your expectations a bit lower in the first half of the implementation by not creating the GUI itself but making sure your logic works in the Console version. So that you dont get bored of the implentation and end up not doing the game successful
After successful console display, I make the GUI part of the game which is fun than the first half ^^.
So Decide the game you want to implement, write down the logic behind, implement it,then construct a GUI.
If need help, we can always help.
Applets are usually for web games. Its not necessary in making a game. :) and yea applets are kinda cool if you think abt itQuote:
