what is your user interface? barcode readers will just act like keyboard but instead of keys being displayed it displays binary numbers

I used Swing as the user interface, i just wanted to know how can i fetch the readings of the barcode scanner and use the data as the input to my program instead of typing it from the keyboard.

You are using the word 'interface' as in 'user interface' and you implemented it with Swing components. Your barcode reader also has an interface, to be used by a computer; is it a USB interface or a serial RS/232 interface? Or anything else? The vendor of your barcode reader must've supplied a programmer's manual for that thing.

    kind regards,

    Jos
