Hello Guys,,,,, i am working on a Java Program that will accept input from a Barcode Reader and Fingerprint Scanner...
I am done with the interface/GUI but i don't know how can i get input from the Barcode Reader.. PLease Help me on how to do that... any idea will help a lot to me.. This is my project in school.. Please help me please.... Thanks..
what is your user interface? barcode readers will just act like keyboard but instead of keys being displayed it displays binary numbers
I used Swing as the user interface, i just wanted to know how can i fetch the readings of the barcode scanner and use the data as the input to my program instead of typing it from the keyboard.
You are using the word 'interface' as in 'user interface' and you implemented it with Swing components. Your barcode reader also has an interface, to be used by a computer; is it a USB interface or a serial RS/232 interface? Or anything else? The vendor of your barcode reader must've supplied a programmer's manual for that thing.Quote:

Ahhhhh.. i'm so sorry,, i am thinking about user interface.. GUI or CLI,, anyway,,
we are planning to use USB type of barcode scanner.. Any idea on where am i to start?
