Compiler Question
I have the Java in a Nutshell3rd Edition book in the book there is a small program called Factorial.java, they want me to key it in and run the compiler.
I've installed the 5.8 version of the SDK but can't run javac as the books says to do. I could not find the compiler javac anywhere on the machine.
What am I missing?

What's "the 5.8 version of the SDK"?
Get Sun's JDK from their download site. The one you want is "JDK 6 Update 17" a little way down the page.
Then work through the HelloWorld in the Tutorial - always a good check that you have a compiler installed properly! The tutorial includes instructions which address common problems.
