Working with Alice and Java

I am writing a function.

 object tankList (parameter), object tanklist = nothing (variable)
                    for all tanklist, one object item from tankList at a time
                        if convertableCorvette == item from tankList 
                          tankList set value to world.tankGather
             returns tankIhit

my problem is calling the function in my method. I am not even sure if the funciton is right. I try to run the program however it did not do what i want it to. i wanted the the car to hit the tank then the gas tank suppose to move away as if was disappearing. However the car went right through it. Thanks alot if you can help.

I once used Alice briefly for programming. But I do not know how this code fits into it as Java.
