    Default bit confused on this question

    In order for there to be an efficient multi-threaded solution to a problem, what is a key characteristic that the problem must have?

    Choice 1

    The program is to be run on a machine with multiple CPUs.
    Choice 2

    There are multiple tasks to be performed that involve very little cooperation.

    Choice 3

    The program is to be used by multiple people.

    Choice 4

    A problem takes a long time to solve.

    Choice 5

    It interacts with devices and networks.

    Is this an exam question? :)

    Choice 1 is nice to have but i guess 5th one is what you are looking for because the main idea of threads is to spend unused cpu power to other threads when one thread is waiting for an IO operation result.
