java to c++

Hello

I just started learning java and after researching I am realising it isnt the best langauge for what I want to develop eventually.

so lets say i learn java, its part of my first semester, how difficult will it be to learn c / c++ from there??

When learning any language the key isn't to learn the syntax but to learn on a more abstract level. That way you can apply your knowledge of how computers and programming languages work to any new language you come across. With all the languages out their currently and more to come in the future, the key to success is being able to learn, not already knowing how to do something.

I was refering to extras, e.g - the way the memory is handled.

Sorry, you'll have to learn memory handling and many other specifics afresh when learning C++ as it's very different from Java.

nothing to be sorry about :) I'm going to be studying C++ in my 3rd term, looking forward to it. thanks I will start looking into memory handling.
