What specifically are you trying to create here? The details will help a great deal.

thanks for reply.Creating in the sense i want to add custom features to the existing components and it should work as a new component .I know how to add my custom working functionality to existing components by using appropriate classes ,but i don't know how to create a component with my functionality ,my listeners ,my own display properties and it can added to JFrame or any other top level container directly.

Based on your current posts, I have no idea how to help you, and again, specifics will help a great deal. Please give a very concrete example something you'd like to create.

Any way thanks for your reply again.

but what I don't understand is that it seems that you already can use this combo box as you've written it. What additional functionality are you requiring? Also, this statement doesn't make much sense to me: "i can use this component directly to the JFrame". Do you mean so that you can add it to a NetBeans Swing app by drag and drop? If so, then say so.
Again, you need to clarify things greatly. I'm sorry if I'm frustrating you with this, but it's kind of frustrating me. You may wish to read this link: How to ask questions the smart way
I know that the link has helped me greatly in formulating forum questions

If you are trying to create a reusable custom Swing component to place on the NetBeans palette, have a look at this interesting link here: Create Reusable NetBeans Component
If you want to do something different, again, please add more detail about your question. Best of luck, and HTH.

if you are using NetBeans as IDE ,You can easily create swing components like your own textfild and so on...
Try out it.

My frustration is mainly my problem, passes quickly and while it sometimes be a nuisance to you (sorry!), it should never harm you. What can harm you though is your not receiving an adequate answer because of an incomplete question.
So on that note, please never worry about frustrating me, but if you want a timely answer, worrying about how to spend a good bit of time to formulate an answerable question will do nothing but help you.
Best of luck.
