    Exclamation Java Wysiwyg?

I am in need of serious help. Is their a WYSIWYG program for Java? I have netbeans and eclipse, but they do not do me a whole lot of good when I do not know how to code the entire program.

I am in college this is my last semester and I am taking a Java class which I am getting nothing from! The class is horrible and for the first portion of the semester I was able to skim by purchasing extra textbooks, watching youtube tutorials, and praying to higher powers.

Now we are being given more work, and between 5 other classes I do not have time for extra textbooks. I need to know Java like right now. I have two projects due by the end of the semester and I am at a loss I do not want one class to ruin a 4.0 GPA and keep me from graduating.

Does anyone have any idea if their is WYSIWYG for Java, video lesson, computer lesson, tutorials anything? I am to the point where I have considered hiring a programmer to code the stupid thing for me.

I want to learn Java one way or another but I have to get through this last 6 weeks of hell so I can teach myself because I am literally not learning anything other than how than how to have weekly panic attacks.

    Thanks~KitKat

    Hey KitKat,

Sympathies for being a class where you learn nothing, I can empathise with that fully.

For learning Java I would heartily recommend buying "Head First Java" by Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates, published by O'Reilly. It's the one I am using and it simply fantastic!

As for a Java WYSWYG, the only thing I have heard of is a GUI builder called GUI genie.

But, if you have 6 weeks before your assignments need to be in, I reckon you buy the book I mentioned before and do some really heard learning. You don't need to digest the whole book, just the first few chapters and anything else you find relevant. Then you can go back and learn the whole thing.

I hope you get your assignments finished,

    - Wolf Brother.

    Default Thank you

I have the Head First Java book it is what got me through the first half of the semester and I agree it is an excellent book. I have weekly exercises and quizzes that have to be completed from the text book for the course, plus the two projects and 5 other classes that is where I am finding it hard to squeeze in other textbooks. That and some of the items I did not see in the Java Head First or missed them. I am needing to learn about Java AWT and it is not well covered in the class text.

The GUI genie looks like something that would help me immensely but I am on a Mac and it is not available for Mac : ( I guess I may have to give in and buy a Windows based computer.

The GUI Genie looks like it would be very helpful for one of my projects. Is their anything similar for Mac?

    Thanks again!

I'm not aware of any mac verison of GUI genie, you might have to spend some time googling for a verison of that?

If all else fails you could try using WINE to run GUI genie, although I'm not sure how easy it is to compile WINE on a mac and how successful it is but it might be worth a try?
