    hi mates ,

    i am new to this forum and to java

    so please try to help me guys,i want to the know
    1.where to download java?
    2. how to install it in windows and how to set the path and environment
    3.I want to know the logic behind the path setting and how to check whether the path is correct or not
    4.and want to know how to compile java program which is writterren in notepad and how to link the path of the note pad?....thanks in advance

    yes. did you try the link out?
    click on download jdk6 and download it.
    save the exe, double click, read the license, and install.
    don't need to worry about path and evniroments unless you ran into problems. everything else you need to know is there in that link.

    mate ,
    i want to learn how to set the path...so please help me in setting the path ...actually i want to create epub file so i have to run java in particular folder and i don't know to specify the path ?..please help me

    mate,

    if i enter the name in the "epub foldername" in cmd promt it gives me this error
    Java Code:
    "epub" it is not recognized as internal or external command,operable command or batch file

    What you have done so far?

    1. Did you download the latest JDK version and install in your machine?

    Download JDK 5.0

    2. Did you set the system variable? If so how?

    How to setup Java on my computer.

    3. Did you write a simple Java application to test the installation?

    4. Did you start work on the Sun Java tutorial? (angryboy send you the link in his very first post)

    5. Start to read the Java doc too.
