What I need to install to learn java?

Hi,
I'm very new to java.Basically I'm an oracle DB developer.I need to learn java.
I'm not sure about what to install and what not to for beginners?can anyone help me.

google jdk (Java Development Kit)

and start downloading Java SE Development Kit (JDK)
this will be at a java.sun.com website, looks like JDK 6 Update 12 is the latest one.

you should also read tutorials (lots of them can be found with a quick google search) to get you started and also on how to actually install and use the jdk.

All what you need is there in the Suns' official web site. You just need to install latest JDK version. Initially you can work on with the Notepad + command prompt. If you like to use an IDE for Java developments, from the NetBeans web site you can download the NetBeans.

Download NetBeans

From the above link, download the bundle name Java, in size of 212MB.
