Java Problems
Hi
New to java and experiencing problems and some assistance if possible is requested.
I am running Vista Home Premium. Attached are some shots I have collected which might be of some interest. Please bear in mind that I am what can be referred to as a novice but learning as time goes by.
When my UAC is not in protected mode the java test completes, but does not when in protected mode. I gather it is always best to have my uac in protected mode.
I should also mention that when I run IE as administrator, protected mode always appear as OFF. Is that correct?
When the test is completed (protected mode off) the Java Console does appear. Console does not appear (protected mode on)
Hopefully what I have said (indicated) makes sense. Help is highly apprecia-ted.
Any further details which might help will supplied upon requested.
Hope the attachments will be of some assistance.

are you programming in the java programming language? If not, you may have better luck with this elsewhere.

Java Problem
Hi
Your response was in no way helpful. It would appear that java forum is only meant for professionals/programmers. This opinion is what seems to be the case judging from other threads which I read.
Sorry to have bothered you.

It was not meant to be helpful, but rather was meant to gather information. You do understand the difference here? I ask again, are you running into a problem with a program you have created with the Java programming language? Your answer to this will let us and you know whether you have come to the correct site or not, and what further questions need to be answered.Your response was in no way helpful.
You can choose to answer this question or not, or you can insult me; it's up to you.Last edited by Fubarable; 12-01-2008 at 11:15 PM.

hhhmmm...
xonkie, that was any interesting response and totally uncalled for. I don't find anything wrong with Fubarable's response to your initial post. I think you misunderstood his response. He was just trying to find out if you had a problem with a Java program you were programming/developing or had a problem with something running on Java. If it was the first, this forum can probably help you. If it was the second, then you might not find the answer in this forum and would be better asking in another type of forum. Just for clarification, this is a Java programmer's/developers forum.
Luck,
CJSLChris S.

Java Problem
Hi Guys
Reviewing my last input, any offence caused is regretted for which I apologize.
It was in no way meant to be insulting. Perhaps the frustration of not being able to resulve my situation got the better of me.
Regarding you enquiry as to whether I am programming in the java programme language, suffice it to say that being a novice, I am somewhat at sea on that score.
Basically the proglem I am experiencing is as follows:
When I enter the following site java website using Internet Explorer
there is the possibility to check whether I have Java. The verification never completes. The following always appear
quote
The page should refresh and display your environment within 10-60 sec.
If it is taking longer, your browser may not be using the latest JRE or there is a problem with your installation.
unquote
At this point I would like to mention that I also use mozilla firefox browswer
and going through the same process the result is successful. Never a problem. The last outcome shows that Java 6 Update 11
The Java Consul is seen in Firefox whereas never seen in IE
Hopefully you are able to advise a possible reason why it does not work using Internet Explorer as opposed to Firefox.
If not can you advise a forum which might be of assistance..
Tks

Sorry, I misread your post. While this site isn't for just professionals, it's mainly for programmers both professional and non. You may be lucky and find someone who can answer your question here, and I hope that's the case, but it's not the main thrust of what is discussed here. I myself and not involved with helping users set up their Java environments and so I cannot help you, but again there are others who may. Any way, much luck to you.
