Where to find most recent java platform???
I don't know which platform is the right one to download, I downloaded one a while ago that I though was recent but then the Scanner class didn't resolve in a program. I can't find on java.sun.com.
Can someone tell me what is the most recent, and give link, and what does it depend on? I have Vista 32-bit, OS are there any other factors that determine which is the right one for me?? Does the IDE matter? I hate this confusing bs.

What do you mean the Scanner class didn't resolve? Was it properly imported? I don't see any reason as to why it wouldn't work under any platform. The Sun website lgives you some option, which is confusing, but you're always gonna get the same JDK.

Of course I imported it properly, it would give a different error message if i wrote it wrong
import java.util.Scanner;
but I saw someone else on a different forum ask this because he got same error and people said his jdk file was outdated or something and he needed to get a more recent one so i dunno wtf to do.

Jdk 6 Se
Not trying to interfere with the solution of your problem, but I think this is the most recent version of the JDK (if you need it):
Java SE Downloads
