There is no "built in - JDBMS"....
There is no "built in - JDBMS" ... I think you have stated your Thesis Proposal in well defined ways. There are numerous tools in Java for interacting with databases but it is clear after some work on the matter myself that there is no such thing as JDBMS and as such would make an extremely productive area of work as a thesis subject. How that would fare as a thesis proposal is a matter for your advisors. I would ask them and see how they respond, I just wasted $105 USD on an ASP.NET book by a reliable publisher some 1,800 pages long only to find server-side includes being viewed as obscure stratospherics, simple beginner stuff in Java. <% - code goes here - %>, wow.
I would not set sail on this unless you can find a thesis advisor who is at least moderately attuned to your idea.Introduction to Programming Using Java.

Perhaps he's referring to Apache Derby, the closest thing I know of to a "Java" database management system.

I cannot see your whole reply as the system refresh has not propogated, but yes JDBC is well known - think of it for the moment as a general purpose interface.
We have plenty of JDBC honchos here who can spot your needs effectively and fluidy.
