hello java community

I'm new to java and when i install "jdk-1_5_0_09-windows-i586-p.exe",
i got the error message.
I set the correct path in environment variables but i got that.tell me what is wrong?

You mean during the installation? If so your exe may be corrupted. Try with a different exe.

What command are you entering to get the error message?

I mean when i use " java -version" in DOS.
but when i restart my computer,it is ok to run.I don't know why and pls explain to me.However,when i use to execute java file, i have to write "-cp".
eg. java -cp . test
but i don't want to use "-cp".What can i do for that?

Are you getting an error?
If so copy and paste the FULL text of the message here.
Can't explain without that.
Does your computer have the CLASSPATH environment variable set? Does it have the . in it? IF does not have it, add the .
