Error occured during initialization of VM
hello java community
I'm new to java and when i install "jdk-1_5_0_09-windows-i586-p.exe",
i got the error message.
I set the correct path in environment variables but i got that.tell me what is wrong?

You mean during the installation? If so your exe may be corrupted. Try with a different exe.

What command are you entering to get the error message?

I mean when i use " java -version" in DOS.
but when i restart my computer,it is ok to run.I don't know why and pls explain to me.However,when i use to execute java file, i have to write "-cp".
eg. java -cp . test
but i don't want to use "-cp".What can i do for that?
