Monitoring the network
I am a B.Tech. final year student and making major project similar to that of cyber roam.I want to know how do I come to know that any packet has been arriving in the gateway at application level in Java.

Unfortunately your question is not clear. What is the gateway? Are you talking about socket level communication?

This question is already being answered in the networking forum, place your responses there, or multiple conversations will exist with neither one knowing what has already been said in the other, and so, doomed to repeat it. That is one of the reasons this cross-posting is so d@mn irritating. And he's done it in about 20 forums. Pisses me off.
