    Default Applet Vs JApplet ?? which is better for animation?

    Morning all ....
    Currently i'm designing a chess game... My game will animate chess moves.
    But a bit confused here....
    Which one is a better choice for me Applets or JApplets ?

    Also is it recommended to use SwingWorker ? rather than the legacy ways to program animations ( implements runnable ... etc)

    Applet is AWT, JApplet is Swing.
    AWT is the old way and Swing the new way.

    So it doesn't really matter. As Norm says, JApplet is newer, so it looks a lil better with buttons and stuff, but it doesn't matter with Applets... Choose w/e you like. I prefer Applet, from AWT.
