Is there a question here? If you don't use it, don't want it, delete it.

Yes, if you don't want to use it or you are not doing any development in Java, no need to keep it there. But keep in mind, if you uninstall the Java form your laptop, it's better to install latest JRE(Java Run-time Environment) separately. If not you cannot deal with applets and so on, when you are browsing the web.

Java on Laptop?
If I dump JAVA, what impact will that have on the operation of the computer?
If it will hamper the applets (whatever that is), what else will happen?
I need to be educated on this and I really feel like a dummy.
Appreciate your help.

If you remove Java, anything that requires Java will fail. This is true for anything, "if you remove X, anything that requires X will fail"
Your questions make no sense. what are you really trying to find out?

How many websites are going to be dependent on JAVA? If I browse the web, how much trouble will I have bringing up the websites I'm looking for? Are many websites using JAVA?

I'm completely baffled by your questions. Why are you asking?
Just remove it, and see.
"How many websites" is unanswerable and not important. The number of websites on the 'net is big. too big to care about.
The only important answer to you is "how many that I care about require it?"
and only you can answer that.
Your questions make no sense. The amount of disk space you would "save" is trivial. Again: what are you asking? Or are you just a troll?

Yes, seems to me this question doesn't make any sense. You asking something general, not specific to Java at all. I don't think that anyone can say how many website depends on Java. It's really stupid question, in my view.
