I want to make a software to connect to Internet(or to be precise, login to my ISP). How to build such software using Java?

What protocol does the ISP use? Is the login normally done with a browser? Do you want the java program to do the same thing the browser and you as a user do when you login into the site?
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

    There are three questions asked.

"What protocol does the ISP use?" - not a yes/no question

"Is the login normally done with a browser?" - yes/no question
"Do you want the java program to do the same thing the browser and you as a user do when you login into the site? " yes/no question

So you answered "yes" one time. To which one? And what is the answer to the other questions?
