    Question Is there java library for developing a mail server?

    hi, i want to develop a java based mail server just like james, jes etc.
    the sun supplied the java mail api for developing a mail application which can send and receive mail,but it seems that it cannot be used to develop a mail server application, is there a java api for mail server?
