Simple website interaction
I want to make a simple website-interaction program. The program will run on my computer. It needs to connect to a webpage, get some numbers from specific places on that page, do some calculations with those numbers and then click some javascript buttons based on those calculations.
My question is what way to do this? Do I need a specific programming language (do I need to write this in javascript or html? It seems not to me, but I don't know), is there some tutorial about website-interaction? This seems like a common problem, which suggests there is a (relativly) easy way to do this, but I can't find it (mainly because I don't know where to look).
