No Client/Server required Messenger
Hi there all
I understand how to use sockets and ServerSockets quite effectively but I always land up with the same problem:
-I want to be able to write a SIMPLE messenger program to be used just over the LAN
-I want it to be simple to the user, i.e. the user should not have to worry about trying to connect to the server etc etc
-It should just work like a program called "IPMessage.exe"
-I just need to know if there is a way in java to:
> Send personal text based messages across a LAN (with multiple PC's) without it being server/client based. That is, some users may be able to shutdown their PCs and other users must still be able to communicate
Your responses will be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Candice.
