Qualifications in Networking

Was curious what are qualifications most employers expect you to have for anetworking job. Im thinking about doing a course next year that is a basic networking course and maybe do a network security course if i have the money. Also was wondering is there much work in this area and is it tough to get your foot in the door "so to speak".

have a look at the Cisco Certified networking associate (0-500 users) or the Cisco Certified Network Professional (500+ users) courses provided by cisco (www dot cisco dot com). Also have a look at doing the Security+ and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers courses. These can be great helps when working with Micorosoft based systems.
